Closing the Loop: Bioenergy & Sustainable Farming Open House

Impact Bioenergy and the Rural Energy Development for Washington Program invite you to attend a “Closing the Loop” event on January 27, 2020, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Matsuda Farm and Vashon Bioenergy Farm at Island Spring Organics tofu factory, on Vashon Island.

The open house event will feature Island Spring Organics’ new anaerobic digester, which processes organic food “waste” into organic biofertilizer (“REDEW”), ultra-low carbon organic renewable natural gas (“ORNG”) for clean fuel and energy. The event will also highlight trials at Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust’s Matsuda Farm, who are applying the nutrient-rich biofertilizer from the digester to their fields.
